  • Security
Lima is a wonderful city full of interesting places, entertainment and shopping. You will enjoy them most taking the following safety tips:

As any other cosmopolitan south american capital, Lima has all kind of people. For your safety be cautious and alert while walking in the streets.
-Upon arrival to Jorge Chavez International airport take Green Taxi company service , Urbanito Bus or Inka Lodge Shuttle (when available). Never follow neither taxi men that come by themselves nor taxi cab catched outside the airport. Airport surroundings are not safe, so do not get outside the airport by yourself.
-Inka Lodge is located in a safe neighborhood - Miraflores- but when walking by yourself we recommend not to take original passport, ID or others with you. Carry only copies. Leave originals at Inka Lodge safe box or inside your room.
-Carry Backpacks, handbags, canvas or similar always in front of you
    -Cameras inside bags
-Take with you only enough cash for the day
    - Never exchange money from people standing in the streets offering this service; instead look for a Money exchange house, Bank or come to Inka Lodge front desk
    - Taxi cab is a very cheap transportation choice in Lima (rates go from U$ 1.20 to $6.00 for most metropolitan circuit). Despite it, we do not recommend you to catch taxi cabs at any street, unless identified with SETAME ID (most of them drive yellow little taxis, but not all those taxis are legal). If there is no other chance, always deal the price in soles (national currency) before getting inside the car. There are several guaranteed Taxi companies you can call to pick you up for a very small amount of money . Ask our concierge for a free of charge pick up service.

    Communications
Lima is a modern city updated with latest communication technology. You can connect your laptop wireless with wi-fi system in some public spaces, rent an internet cabin for as low as US $ 3.00 per hour at our front desk or make phone calls with telephone cards from most public phones.
  • Cash Withdrawl
Every shopping area, bank or gas station is provided with cash tellers depending on the different credit or debit cards, 24 hours a day. When you take cash from a teller be careful you are not being observed by any suspicious person in the street or people inside any car.
  • Health Tips
    - Never drink water from the faucett, always buy bottled water.
    - Ask for reliable restaurant guidance at Inka Lodge front desk.
    - Peruvian creole food is one of the world's tastiest but always ask their ingredients so you won't get stomach upset.
    - Lima is at sea level and its weather is very nice most of the year,
Summer: From December till March (in the 80s F degrees)
Winter: From April till November (in the 60s F degrees)
